To Madam Umang who asked me for a pasta sauce for her kids, this is my favourite, loads of flavour.
If you find cloves before serving, remove them if desired 😁
Ingredients:
680 gm minced beef
3 onions, chopped
4 stalks celery, diced
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomatoes purée
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 to 3 cloves
Salt and pepper
Method:
Step 1. In a saucepan, brown the meat, half at a time (don't over cooked). Add oil, if needed. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside in a bowl.
Step 2. In the same saucepan, add in the onions, celery, and garlic with the remaining oil. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 3. Pour in the tomato paste, tomato puree and cook for 1 minute over high heat.
Step 4. Add the meat (step 1), cloves, and oregano. Bring to a boil and simmer gently, for about 1 hours or until it thickens.
Step 5. Serve over the pasta of your choice. Don't forget your parmesan cheese! I love PARMESAN
